We are seeking an experienced  Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our farm operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a range of heavy agricultural machinery, trucks, tractors, and diesel-powered equipment.

This is a hands-on position suited to a mechanically skilled individual who can work independently, troubleshoot equipment efficiently, and keep machinery operating safely and reliably during critical farming periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on tractors, combines, harvesters, sprayers, loaders, trucks, and other diesel-powered equipment.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, braking systems, and drivetrains.
• Carry out inspections, adjustments, repairs, and equipment overhauls as required.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field and minimize machinery downtime.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and general mechanical repairs when required.
• Ensure all machinery is maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workplace safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop and work area.
• Assist with preparing equipment for planting, harvesting, and other seasonal farm operations.
• Order or identify required parts and communicate equipment repair needs to farm management.
• Work closely with farm operators to identify mechanical problems and ensure equipment is operating properly.

Qualifications and Experience

• Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Agricultural Equipment Technician, or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Previous experience working on agricultural, heavy-duty, or construction equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Welding and fabrication experience is an asset.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work flexible hours during busy planting and harvest seasons.
